Two titles will be on the line this April at UFC 197, including the long-awaited rematch between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones.
Officials confirmed plans for the April 23 event this weekend. It will take place from Las Vegas and the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
In the pay-per-view headline bout, Cormier defends his light heavyweight title against former champion Jones. “DC” won the belt after “Bones” was stripped last year following a hit-and-run incident.
To start 2015, Jones (21-1) handed Cormier (17-1) his first pro loss, earning a decision and defending the belt. Cormier has since won the title vs. Anthony Johnson and defended it vs. Alexander Gustsafsson.
In the co-main event, UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson (23-2-1) will try to secure his eighth title defense against Henry Cejudo (10-0). “Mighty Mouse” sports an Octagon record of 11-1-1, while Cejudo is a former U.S. Olympic gold medalist.
